Time to get another Blog rolling.
There is nothing better than to do what you love all day!!!
Yep, I am one of those fortunate people that gets to do what I love everyday… But everything has two sides… so… we always look for a balance!
I often have to laugh when I tell people that I go to America or to Australia or wherever in the world that I go.. there respond, O are you headed for a nice on holiday?!
Every time I am asked this question, I have to think about the answer. Yes or no.
I pack my suitcase, I go to awesome places. I see the sun very often and I do what I love. But it’s not a holiday.
Especially not when you have nearly finished a training block. The fatigue starts to dig in. You itme is basicly train, eat, sleep, and repeat. You get more grumpy, more emotional, and a little more stressed… not always easy to deal with. For yourself but also for the people around, like the coach.
One of the more important parts I notice is my trainig mates.
When you feel tired and a little less motivated there are always these people who drag you through these days. With a chat, a laugh, or a hug!!
So this is the ideal situation….
Imagine when you are injured, when you are sick, or when you can not finish a training block for a reason. I can tell you all about it. Life as a triathlete is a little rollercoaster.
As a pro-triathlete you travel a lot. This means you get to visit a lot of nice and cool places. But the other side of it is that you miss a couple of things. Birthdays, graduations or funarals.
For those that experience the real high performance sport it is not easy, it is fun, but it is hard work! To improve and to accelarate every day.
It is sometimes very easy to judge. About why athletes are not racing or making certain choices, like moving to the other side of the world or not racing a important race… In the end what the athlete wants is to be the best that he or she can be. Looking back and thinking of a nice time, the challenges you have overcome and a couple of good results you had.
Having a bag with different experiences that you do not get in normal life, a bag with awesome friends all over the world, and a bag that shows you do what you love!
Thanks to my training partners!!!
Take care, Keep you updated!
